Starting in November 2024, all our guests enjoy complimentary club membership and access to the Tryall Club, an exclusive Caribbean country club resort,  set within 2,200 acres of natural beauty, where rolling hills and valleys tumble down to one and a half miles of a private shoreline and  a state-of-the-art beach club.

Complete with a luxury spa, a celebrated golf course, five-star dining, a state-of-the-art tennis center and a white-sand beach, Tryall has been an exclusive destination for royalty, statesmen, and prominent business leaders, artists, writers, musicians, and actors.

Its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and warm tropical climate create the perfect playground for vacation-goers year round. Tryall is an eight-minute car ride from Coconut Cottage in picturesque Montego Bay, and your dedicated driver can take you to and from there at any time during your stay.

Experience world-class golfing at Tryall Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The picturesque 18-hole championship golf course offers a challenging and memorable experience for golf enthusiasts of all skill levels. Designed by Ralph Plummer in 1958, the course spans over 6,772 yards of undulating terrain with strategically placed bunkers, rolling fairways, and demanding greens. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Caribbean Sea as you navigate our meticulously maintained layout, creating unforgettable memories with every swing.

One of Tryall’s most enduring features, the 18-hole, 6,836-yard course is the work of celebrated golf course designer Ralph Plummer. Plummer, who worked on over 100 courses during his 40-year career, created an amazing course for Tryall.

He added features where there were none, without creating clutter and distractions. He worked with the terrain, locating holes across the gently rolling hills for contrast with the earlier flatter holes. Water features, just the right amount of bunkers and crosswinds add to the intrigue. 

Today’s golfer will never lose interest in a round at Tryall, thanks to Plummer’s work. The seventh hole incorporates the aqueduct that supplied the sugar plantation’s waterwheel – you play your shot right through the aqueduct’s stone pillars. The challenge of the wind is ever present, demanding concentration and careful assessment of your next shot.

We haven’t allowed Plummer’s legacy to stifle development. For the 1992 Johnnie Walker Championship we added a fourth hole in true Plummer style, incorporating the ocean and the Flint River. Now we have a course that flows down to the sea and then, eight holes later, rises to 180 feet. New tees have been discreetly incorporated, further improving on the design.

Technically challenging, beautiful to look at and never overcrowded, Tryall’s golf course is one of the Caribbean’s finest.

Tryall’s beach and pool bars also serve lunch, and the dimly lit Cocktail Bar offers signature hand-crafted cocktails, a spectacular seaside view, an elegant appetizer bar menu, and live music. Afternoon Tea is served in the 18th Century Great House and comes with traditional finger foods like cucumber sandwiches, fresh fruit, and dessert. Multiple Private Dining Experiences are also available.

If you are seeking an exhilarating and unforgettable Caribbean experience, look no further than The Tryall Club resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The water sports facilities can be found at the western end of the main beach. Here, you can test your skills in both motorized and complimentary non-motorized activities. 

Divers and snorkelers can discover the underwater world from our offshore reef, and for those who prefer to be above water, glass-bottom boat rides reveal the hidden depths of Montego Bay without getting wet. A full PADI scuba diving program is available, including open-water certification as well as advanced open-water certification.

Our choice of motorized sports includes wakeboarding, water skiing, tubing, banana boat rides, and private glass-bottom boat tours. For enthusiastic anglers, we offer bottom fishing and four-hour deep-sea fishing trips.

Tennis and Pickleball on any of the resort’s courts are complimentary for Coconut Cottage guests. You also have access to Tryall’s state-of-the-art fitness center (daily fee of $25 may apply).y.

As for shopping, the Tryall shops and Boutiques,  offer personalized shopping assistance and carries all the essentials you may need plus locally made gifts, clothing, and arts and crafts. The boutique’s chic clothing lines feature beach and casual wear, as well as resort-style eveningwear from Caribbean and Jamaican-based designers.
